I've had these for about a month or so, and I like them so far. The toe loop is a cool addition, gives you the feel of a flip flop with the stability of a sandal, the price difference isn't much so if you want it I would go for it, but your life won't necessarily be drastically different without it. I'm stuck between sizes and chose to go up, and if I did it again I would probably size down. The added slack makes it less of a lockdown fit and it's no fun having the strap flap around. Great around town, for easy to moderate hiking, and around the campsite.

Initial thoughts from a weekend on the white rim was that these are very comfortable. They were great to throw on and walk around. I wasnt sure how to adjust the straps at first and had some rubbing issues. Once they were adjusted, they are GREAT for wading and walking around.

Chacos are the summer staple at our house. My husband wears them pretty constantly in warm weather. They hike great and stay on if you wind up swimming a rapid. It does take a bit of an adjustment period to get the straps super comfy, so strap them tight and walk in them for a couple of days before they are perfect.

I made the mistake of ordering these without realizing there is a wide option. If you have a normal width foot, here is a great option for your standard Chaco. These also made me realize I am not a fan of the toe strap, and will be getting the ones without the toe strap going forward.

To begin, I've never been a big sandal guy so I was very hesitant to drop the money on a pair of Chacos. I found them here at Backcountry on sale and decided to pull the trigger on the leant java Z/2 Classics. I was shocked at how much I love wearing these! They even look great on me. I bought them in the Fall and I can't wait for Spring and Summer to roll around so I can wear them even more!

If it's summer, I'm wearing my Chacos. They have enough grip to even climb and scramble in when needed, and will grip a wet paddleboard or boat on the water. Super comfy and versatile! The toe strap is essential for me when hiking to have the sandals not flopping around everywhere.

Bought for son's birthday. This is his first pair of chacos and it took him a little while to get them set up with the straps comfortably but after a few weeks have walked in them several miles and found them to be quite comfortable.

Sole has a great arch and provides support all day long. They are extremely comfortable and form fitting. Highly recommended.

These Chaco's are my go to sandal for any kind of adventure during the summer. I love the adjustable straps for a perfect fit. I'd recommend these to anyone looking for an upgraded Teva that is going to last a lot longer!

I ordered these in a size 8 (I'm almost always a size 8 or 8.5 in shoes) and they we a good 1.5cm too long. Otherwise, really liked the shoes! I'll be returning the 8 and trying a 7.

Well made sandals. Purchased as a gift for my friend. Didn't really use them but I can tell they are of high quality!

After years of being on the fence, I finally purchased a pair of chacos. I was gearing up for a trip to Costa Rica, and needed some new sandals. For that trip , specifically, they were ideal and they're great for a lot of other scenarios, too. My only regret , would be not getting a pair sooner .

Fifth star is missing due to the toe. I finally got fed up of the toe tightening and super glued them. Then when I felt like they were to loose I just laid down the toe. Other than that I love these. I run, hike, breath in these. Even if it's cold they're my go to shoes, I mean sandals :)

These things rock! I've had mine for 8 years and they're still kickin. I wear them almost every day during the summer. The tan lines are pretty sweet too :)

This is the classic sandal for warm river rafting. Toe loop is a must in sandals for uneven terrain and swimming in the river.

Purchased these for a whitewater rafting trip in West Virginia. Gearhead steered me toward the toe-strap for stability and the advice was spot on. While wearing them, swam in the river, waded in the river and climbed rocks and jumped into the river. Now back home they are the perfect for the canoe trips while fishing on the river.

This was my first pair of Chaco's and I love them. Right out of the box they were great and very comfortable and I was surprised at how beefy the sole was for a sandal. The toe strap is awesome for hikes and keeps your foot in place. I used these on a trip to Costa Rica and they were perfect for it and walking around exploring the cities and also just going on the beach or anything like that. Check these out if you are looking for a great new sandal!

Can't speak to it's durability yet, but they are really comfortable. The adjustment straps can be a bit of a pain to get right, but once they are sized correctly they tend to stay that way.

This is one of the best sandals I have ever worn. The toe feature on this one really works well if you're out hiking or running around as it holds your feet a lot better. It dries fairly quickly after getting wet and grips nicely.

I've had a pair of Z2s for a long time, and just picked up a pair for my brother so he fits in with all of us climbers down in the desert. The big toe strap on the Z2 is a real game changer when the Chacos are used for hikes and approaches–it definitely keeps your feet more planted and doesn't allow the toebox area of the sandal from folding under like the non-toe strap versions can on steep terrain.

I have had these sandals for about a month so far, and these have quickly become some of my favorite sandals. When I first put them on, they seemed very stiff and difficult to adjust. After watching the video about how to adjust them, and about two weeks of a break-in, they feel great! I have worn them to class every day and on a few local trails. They have passed every test I have thrown at them. The toe strap really helps keep my foot secure in the sandal. I have also received more than one compliment on these sandals, which has never happened with any other sandals I have owned. Overall, these sandals are great and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great pair of sandals for casual and hiking use. Side note: These sandals are quite expensive, but if you can catch them on sale, they are worth it.

I bought these in the winter so I haven't been able to use them yet. But the sizing is great and its a classic chaco so I know they will work well!

I got these for a friend before his trip to Bali! said he wore them the entire time, he went on some long waterfall hikes and said they were secure and supportive and his foot didn't slide around when it was wet. He also said he liked the toe loop and easy adjustability.

After talking with a lot of friends that wore similar Chacos, I finally decided to snag a pair myself. Right out of the box they are very comfortable and break in pretty quickly. Im excited to use these on some summer hikes in the upcoming months

I love everything about these sandals and have used them from casual around the house wear, to hikes in Zions National Park in UT to canoeing and portaging in the BWCA (Boundary Waters Canoe Area) in MN. Thick soles, not flimsy like other flip-flops give great support and the adjustable strap and toe loop is great for stability. I highly recommend!

The Chaco is definitely not what they used to be, but still one of the better high arch river shoe on the market. The straps have more flex in adjusting than what they did 10-20 years ago. Same traditional design now without the vibram sole... We'll see how they hold up in the long run. I do like the diversity of the colors though.

Initial thoughts from a weekend in Moab is they are very comfortable and built for walking around the desert. Throwing them on after a long day of hiking or biking and wearing them around the campsite was great. I am still a little concerned about blisters and longer hikes as i do feel some rubbing, but I assume once they are broken in all will be good.

These are my first pair of Chaco's and I love them! They were comfortable to break in and they adjust very well. I have pretty narrow feet, but these tighten up perfectly but still allow a range of movement. These shoes also run true to size, I wear a size 9 and they're spot on. The support and stability provided is top notch too, I can go on mild walks to decent hikes and my feet won't know the difference. An excellent addition to your shoe collection!

I tend to live in my Chacos in the summers. I've had a pair that are still holding up for about 7 years and wanted to go with this version since it has a lighter sole. I do really like the soft and lightweight sole and new tread, however it is sometimes is almost too flexible. I noticed my foot slides around a little bit more but I think as I get the straps dialed in, it will be better. My foot is a 7.5 and I go with an 8. Fit perfect.

I just got another pair of these because my last pair wore out after 5+ years. During that time I wore them nearly every day hiking, paddling, and just around town. The new pair is just like the last and I'm looking forward to many more years of use! Quick note on sizing: Since Chaco's don't come half sizes I'd recommend sizing down for a better fit if you're between sizes.

We have a family camping trip coming up and I had a family member say they were in need of just a nice solid sandal and it was an easy response. Ive owned multiple pairs of these and have never been disappointed. They are strong, sturdy and super comfortable no matter what activity you are into. Size down.

I bought these the day after borrowing my roommates chacos after floating the Weber River (highly recommended). They were very comfortable, even with the toe loop, which I decided against just in case I wanted to throw some socks on with these bad boys. These ones definitely run a little larger. I'm a 10.5 in most shoes depending on the brand, and my roommates were 11's, I had tons of extra room. Not that it got in the way of anything, but I was able to grab a 10 and they fit perfect. Just enough room. And from what I've been hearing, these are going to last me quite some time.

Very happy with the color selection from Chaco these days. The green sole is a welcome variation and as always it's the most comfortable and durable sandal you will ever find. I wear them every single day and my tan lines are fierce.

After purchasing a pair of chacos for myself a couple of years ago, I decided to get my brother a pair for his birthday as well. Here's his review, "My first pair of Chacos and I couldn't be happier! They have great arch support, and are very comfortable. I usually wear a size 9.5 shoe, and decided to go down to a 9, and they fit perfectly. Would highly recommend these over a pair of flip flops."

I was worried about the toe thing being uncomfortable, but it wasn't. It didn't wrap around the whole toe, almost like a thong with a bit more stability. I felt instantly cute and ready to take on the world. The small amount arch support is nice and not overwhelming. A great addition to my shoe collection.
